Jiro Waku

Jiro Matsumoto, or better known as Jiro Waku, debuted in WANDS in
1997; but he started his career about 10 years before in 1987. In fact, he
worked in Johnny’s Jr. when he was still young.
His first band was the ”Sukeetoboizu“ (Skate Boys), but unfortunately we don’t know anything about them. This band was formed by SMAP’s members too. He worked in Johnny’s Jr. for five years.
During his last period in WANDS he worked with ZARD (Izumi Sakai) in her song ”Brand New Love“ (1999) making the chorus part.
Later, when WANDS disbanded, he started a solo career. He published only three songs and in January 2005, when the contract with the label expired, he left the music world and became a bartender.
On March 28th, 2011 he made his return singing as "Secret Guest Vocalist" at Issei Sugimoto's live session at MeguroLIVE STATION.
On April 13th, 2012 on Issei Sugimoto's Twitter Page and Official Blog has been announced Jiro's official comeback with a demo song called ”Shounen“ which will probably be on his new CD.
